Growing the Adult Presence:
Imagine walking through this world anchored in a peace so real it becomes your primary response, replacing the old cycles of reactivity, overwhelm, and past wounds. What if you could access a felt sense of stillness and true safety—at will—no matter what life brings? This is safety in its truest form: unconditioned of external situations.
This state of being is not a distant promise; it is attainable, right here, right now, in this lifetime. It requires a profound commitment and the gift of time, but the realization of this inner stillness is the ultimate sovereignty. It is spiritual gold.
I do not think that we are living in times that are fundamentally different than the rest of human history, but I do think that time is of the essence, and that more of us are being called to evolve in conciousness and respond to this beautiful, improbable world in a new way. I think more and more of us can do this. The old ways are not working, and collectively I believe that we are ready to evolve and live from a grounded presence, peace, and power.
For over thirteen years, I have guided others to reclaim this autonomy. As a Certified Facilitator of The Work of Byron Katie, a devoted student of Adyashanti, and through thirteen years of clinical experience and daily meditation, I have led clients straight to the deepest ground of their being—into the direct experience of silence and peace.
They stay, week after week and year after year, because they witness a substantial transformation in how they experience themselves. They stay because the "soul medicine" of an unshakable ground eventually begins to naturally spill into their everyday lives.
I have seen the power of this ground in the most volatile of times. At the onset of the pandemic, I went to the local grocery store right before lockdown. The entire building was vibrating with fear; it was palpable, permeating the aisles, the parking lot, and the faces of every shopper.
Yet, being part of that fear is ultimately optional. I know this because I did not feel it in my own body. I could feel the collective vibration as clearly as I could see clouds in the sky, but it did not infiltrate my body, mind, or emotions. It had no place to land.
The reason I remained "uninfected" by that intense collective terror was because, four years prior, I had sat on my front porch for three days straight, opening to a crippling fear of my own. I was in the midst of a financial crisis that had me going weak at the knees and starting to blackout as I went about my work. I was incapacitated.
Fortunately, I had the training to translate that enormous terror into a profound three-day ritual of inner clearing. I midwifed that fear through my body and ushered it out through my root chakra.
During those three days on the front porch, I cleared a specific, ancient flavor of fear once and for all. I have never felt that particular entity of fear again. It was through this experience that I gained the lived, certain knowledge that entire chunks of trauma and old emotion can be excised from the body and soul.
"Exorcism" is a frightening word to some, but it is the truth of what occurred: I self-excised a giant energy field of fear from my being, and it has never returned.
After this dedicated healing, the path forward appeared with absolute clarity. From that place of unshakable quiet, I executed a series of business decisions in a single afternoon that resulted in an extra $35,000 in revenue that year.
At the beginning of the pandemic, those with unhealed energies of internal fear were hit the hardest. This is not a judgment; it is simply the mechanics of the human psyche. When there are unhealed places inside, external circumstances will inevitably "ping" them, causing them to flare and take over our experience. This is the definition of a trigger. This is the definition of slavery. Factually speaking, we are slaves to that which we have not healed.
But we don't have to remain in that state of bondage. There is a specific capacity within the human psyche that acts as the 'midwife' for this healing—a part of us that can stand in the middle of a grocery store vibrating with fear and remain completely untouched.
In those three days on the porch, I wasn't just sitting with fear; I was building the capacity to hold it without being consumed by it. To move from that place of incapacitation to the place where I could clear the fear and make that $35,000 pivot, I had to occupy a specific part of my psyche I call the Adult Presence.
This is a place that every human has the potential to inhabit, yet few are taught how to find. I remember one client who worked with me weekly for four years; she suddenly started hearing the Metallica song 'Master of Puppets' with its refrain of 'Obey your master’ over and over as she began to identify exactly how she had been a slave to her conditioning.
She was on the cusp of a huge transformation that resulted in her moving to a little cabin where she spent an entire year sitting in the quiet of her own front porch. She was learning to inhabit the Adult Self, the part of us that no longer had to "obey" the old wounds.
What is Adult Presence?
Adult Presence is the capacity that can notice habituated patterns, reactions, and behaviors, and—with patience and quiet gentleness—begin to consciously choose a different way of being. It is the thing that can notice when long-buried wounding has been running your life. It is the realization that the old pain is not who and what you are.
Adult Presence is the ability to move into a regulated nervous system and consciously choose how to act, speak, or live from that grounded and stable position. It is the thing that can, with consistency and practice, finally sit with the "little hurt ones" inside and listen to what they have lived through.
This is the bedrock of emotional maturity. All healing is predicated on first establishing this ability to regulate.
Clients who find their way to me have often reached a crisis of identity or spirit: an emotional breakdown, PTSD, anxiety, or a career that takes a sudden shift. Think of me trying to run that farm while intermittent terror brought me to my knees—I could no longer house my old conditioning and remain a functional mother and business owner.
Whether it is self-hatred, fear, or unmitigated reactivity, the clients who find me are ready for this transformation once it has been thoroughly proved to them that the old "Master" is never going to work again.
Facets of Being
Adult Presence is not a hollow concept; it is the fruit of finding and spending time in what I call the Facets of Being. Just as I had to midwife that terror on my porch to find the clarity beneath it, we all must learn to navigate the different qualities of our deepest nature.
Awakened being has different Facets, or qualities. Each of us are predisposed to naturally discover one or two of these Facets easily, although all of them are present. While my experience on the porch led me to a deep and vast steadiness, another person will notice an uncreated silence underpinning the entirety of the surface world. Another will awaken to a sense of absolute belonging that just is—it does not have to be earned or established.
It is important to discover which Facets of Being are most accessible in yourself. When I stood in that grocery store during the pandemic, it was because I had spent time immersed in these healing places that the qualities of peace and ground were able to naturally spill into that chaotic environment.
It is the actual act of finding and dwelling in these Facets that grows a person's capacity to inhabit the Adult Presence.
The Transformation
This is where the shift from "slavery" to "sovereignty" happens. Clients are able, with devoted time immersed in a Facet of Being, to choose to move into that place of silence, or deep well-being at will. Not as a thought, not as a hope, but as an actual place and action.
Just as I executed those business decisions from a place of complete clarity after three days of inner work, once clients are able to consciously choose to move into a Facet of Being and spend time there, they also become able to purposefully open into that same depth of presence in the difficult moments of their day-to-day life.
This is absolutely transformational, and worth more than anything money can buy. The sovereignty and power of being able to access a deep Facet of your Being at will is the key to living life from presence and peace. Real abiding healing can commence, and the ability to truly be with the wounding and inner conditioned parts from a place of grounded stability and okayness is spiritual gold.
Once a person is able to bring a Facet of Being up into their life and consciously live from there, the Adult Presence is born.
The Container
Once the Adult Presence is born, it requires a dedicated space to be nurtured and refined. This is why the sanctuary I provide is not about quick fixes, but about the profound level of energetic integrity required to sustain this new way of being.
I am opening the door for two people to answer this call this month—people who are ready to commit to the real work of learning to regulate their nervous system, open to the Facets of Being, and grow the Adult Presence. We begin by setting a solemn intention, anchoring your unfolding in a sacred contract. I hold space with total respect for the courage it takes to drop downward into the core of your existence.
When we work together, I join you in the deep. Because I can sense the specific vibration of your somatic and energetic experience as if it were my own, I am able to offer precise, real-time directions to guide you back into a grounded nervous system. Often, I sense the Facets of Being within you before you can—naming them, anchoring them, and providing a steadying language for the vast places you are beginning to navigate.
In a field dominated by short-term engagements and fleeting results, my practice has become a long-term sanctuary. The depth of this work is reflected in the steady commitment of those I guide: I currently walk alongside clients who have been with me for nine, seven, and five years without interruption. This is longevity is rare and speakes to the deeply attuned container we create together, and to the lived transformation that unfolds in true safety.
If you are called, there is an opening for you.
With warmth and presence,
Evangeline
P.S. Most people come to me because they are ready for a shift, but they stay—often for years—because they discover a capacity within themselves they never knew was possible.
